چکیده
In generalizing constructions of N.V. Veli£ko, the paper starts from two generalized topologies μ and μ′ on a set X and introduces two more generalized topologies δ(μ, μ′) and θ(μ, μ′) with the examination of their properties.

On Jordan ideals and left (θ, θ)-derivations in prime rings
Let R be a ring and S a nonempty subset of R. Suppose that θ and φ are endomorphisms of R. An additive mapping δ : R → R is called a left (θ,φ)-derivation (resp., Jordan left (θ,φ)derivation) on S if δ(xy) = θ(x)δ(y)+φ(y)δ(x) (resp., δ(x2) = θ(x)δ(x)+φ(x)δ(x)) holds for all x,y ∈ S. Suppose that J is a Jordan ideal and a subring of a 2-torsion-free prime ring R. In the present paper, it is show...

We consider probability measures, dμ = w(θ) dθ 2π+dμs, on the unit circle, ∂D, with Verblunsky coefficients, {αj}j=0. We prove for θ1 6= θ2 in [0, 2π) that ∫ [1− cos(θ − θ1)][1− cos(θ − θ2)] logw(θ) dθ 2π > −∞ if and only if ∞ ∑ j=0 ∣∣{(δ − e−iθ2)(δ − e−iθ1)α} j ∣∣2 + |αj | <∞ where δ is the left shift operator (δβ)j = βj+1. We also prove that ∫ (1− cos θ) logw(θ) dθ 2π > −∞

i.e., there exists a constant C such that SN(θ, u) ≤ CN . We define δ(θ, u) to be the infimum of the δ satisfying H1 for θ and u. About H1, in the case where θ takes its values in U (the set of complex numbers of modulus 1), it is clear that for all sequences θ and u, δ(θ, u) is smaller than or equal to 1 and it is well-known (see [Ka] for example) that it is greater than or equal to 1/2. Few e...
متن کاملInequalities for the Bayes Risk
Several inequalities are presented which, in part, generalize inequalities by Weinstein and Weiss, giving rise to new lower bounds for the Bayes risk under squared error loss. Consider a Bayesian setting in which y denotes the observed data and θ denotes an unknown scalar parameter. Suppose that E [ (θ − E(θ|y)) |y ] and E [ (θ − E(θ|y)) ] exist. For any estimator δ(y) of θ, E [ (θ − δ(y))|y ] ...
متن کاملOn the θ-coverage and connectivity of large random networks
Wireless planar networks have been used to model wireless networks in a tradition that dates back to 1961 to the work of E. N. Gilbert. Indeed the study of connected components in wireless networks was the motivation for his pioneering work that spawned the modern field of continuum percolation theory. Given that node locations in wireless networks are not known, random planar modelling can be ...
